The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns of varying complexities.
- Make adjusting journal entries and complete a trial balance for business returns.
- Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications.
- Become proficient of pertinent Internal Revenue Codes and researching tax matters.
- Perform additional accounting functions as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Master’s degree preferred
- CPA or demonstrated progress toward obtaining CPA certification preferred
- One to three years experience in public accounting
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple clients and multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be deadline oriented, able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving ability
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

As a Staff Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will serve a variety of clients in many different industries and help to continue to grow our expanding firm. Our team of professionals are dedicated to our client base, continually striving to improve on our high standard of excellence and professionalism.
A typical day:
The staff accountant is responsible for working directly with multiple firm clients performing daily accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and other general accounting functions. The responsibilities include: reconcile multiple bank accounts; make journal entries; prepare monthly financial statements and reports; review general ledger accounts for input accuracy; prepare weekly payroll including calculating overtime and other pay premiums; prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns; prepare deposit and cash reports; prepare various reconciliations; prepare and/or review expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure; accounts receivable including preparation of monthly invoices and maintaining customer and vendor records; accounts payable including purchase orders and vendor records maintenance, including new vendor setup; perform other duties as may be requested. What’s needed to succeed in this role:
- Accounting degree is preferred
- Three to five years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
- Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping, including an extensive knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to self-manage, prioritize and work on multiple clients and multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail, able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

A typical day:
The client administrator is an effective communicator who is personable and welcoming when greeting and assisting clients; answering the multi-line phone system, taking messages, directing calls to the appropriate party, scheduling appointments; assisting with meeting preparation; handle incoming and outgoing mail (apply postage; prepare certified mail labels; prepare overnight shipping labels; distribute incoming mail to employees); general office administration including scanning, assembly of tax returns, general correspondence, etc.; manage office and kitchen supplies; run errands; open, prepare and close the office each day making sure the lobby, conference rooms, general work areas, and lunchroom are in order; assist the partners and staff with any administrative needs.
What’s needed to succeed in this role:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including professional telephone and client service skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook
- Ability to oversee and manage large amounts of emails and handle follow through
- Strong comfort level with technology and learning new programs with the ability to work independently with accuracy
- Scan client information and secure documents for tax preparation
- Process tax returns and electronically file tax documents within the e-file system
- Provide billing support, including preparing invoices, and assist with accounts receivable management
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to change quickly
